That would make it so only a monumental effort could pull off the victory.

All that being said, it was an interesting game, but for me there are many more out there that I would rather play. In the end, I am not sure it warrants another play.

But, it was better than pushing around a bunch of colored wooden cubes. :)Erik & Meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11204165435131961731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24032827.post-84776157209020582162009-01-12T20:55:00.000-07:002009-01-12T20:55:00.000-07:00Thank you Tatsu for bringing Mecanisburgo last Fri...Thank you Tatsu for bringing Mecanisburgo last Friday. I always enjoy playing new games.

Matthew and I discussed some things about the game on the way home. I personally think that the randomness of the "bonus" victory conditions is pathetic. There is no way that I should have won like that; I won one battle and won the game. Matthew pointed out that the randomness of the special ability resolution was not very good. His suggestion is that you secretly get to look at your random card first and then choose which action card to play.

I liked a lot of the concepts. But overall, I do not think that I would play again unless we had some house rules.

Thanks again! So yeah, I'd be ok with end of the round condition so someone doesn't random draw into a condition they meet and win without anyone getting a chance to stop them.

The real problem I have is that in our game, the condition was "instant win" as the last resolved thing that round. To stop Amelia from winning, we'd all have really needed to gang up on her (which means - beat down the last place player). There seems something wrong with that.Things of No Interesthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09613123851070841897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24032827.post-55701972244216062142009-01-11T18:17:00.000-07:002009-01-11T18:17:00.000-07:00One new thought on the instant-win victory conditi...One new thought on the instant-win victory conditions that you turn up at the beginning of round 3 and round 4: rather than letting someone *poof* win, if instead those conditions were fulfilled by the end of that turn it would allow a win, they'd still be powerful without being something that no one could do anything about.Matthew Frederickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11313457179703695295noreply@blogger.com
